Are Robbie Williams and Ayda Field Finally Engaged?

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

The celebrity news is abuzz today with rumors of an engagement between British signer Robbie Williams and American actress Ayda Field, after she was spotted with a huge diamond engagement ring on her finger.

While Ayda was sitting in the stands of the celebrity football tournament in Los Angeles and cheering on her alleged fiancé, she was caught flashing the heavy rock.  Perhaps she was good luck, England beat Scotland four to one in the tournament.

Strangely, rapper Jay-Z told reporters that he would love to help Robbie plan the wedding.  I supposed that he got a little experience when he and singer Beyonce were married and wants another shot at it.

He said, “I would be happy to help Robbie organize his wedding – I am sure he will make it an extravagant party. I had my 40th last month in the Dominican Republic. That would be a great place for Robbie’s wedding. It’s the most stunning place on earth. It has everything – beautiful beaches, scenery, golf courses – and is easy to fly guests to.  If Robbie wants my help, he should come over for dinner and Bey (Beyonce) and I can help him out. As a wedding present, I would get up after the speeches and do a little set.”  How could Robbie and Ayda turn that down?

Back in November, Robbie proposed to Ayda on an Australian radio show, but insisted that it was just a joke and planned before the broadcast.  His mother Jan now reports that the couple made the engagement official on 12/29/09 in Robbie’s Hollywood home, and the reason the first proposal was dismissed and redone was because Robbie had no diamond engagement ring at the time.  It is also reported that he had planned to pop the question on New Year’s Eve, but the former Take That singer got so excited that he couldn’t wait any longer.

Robbie 35, and Ayda 30, have been dating for three years and say that they are looking forward to starting a family together.  While Robbie is currently promoting his latest album, Reality Killed the Video Star, he said he is willing to settle down a bit soon.  He told Closer magazine in an interview: “That’s definitely on the agenda – little monkeys running around. It’s about time, I’ve had a good innings.”  There should be no problem putting on the career brakes for a family, it is reported that Robbie holds a huge 80 Million Pound fortune.  In today’s dollar to pound exchange rate that is roughly 140 million dollars!  He was also quoted saying about his wife to be:

“She digs me and I dig her, she knows who I am and I know who she is. I trust her 100 percent, and there isn’t even a glimmer of worry of her only liking me for all this singing malarkey.  I’m a pretty cool guy, you know, without all of that anyway.  We don’t fall out, we have nothing to fall out about. We don’t have arguments, we just get on and we make each other laugh. We’re a good team.”

Men’s Engagement Rings, Ask Him to Marry You!

Friday, January 1st, 2010

Ladies, are you tired of waiting around for your man’s marriage proposal?  You know that you are destined to be together, but maybe he is either a little gun shy, or completely oblivious.  If you are itching to tie the knot but know that your groom to be isn’t going to pop the question anytime soon, maybe you should consider proposing to him.  In today’s modern society, more and more women are proposing to men, so many in fact, that some jewelers have started creating engagement rings for men!

Since tradition declares that it is the man’s duty to purchase the engagement ring for the woman, he may be a little shocked at your proposal, so make sure that you do so at the appropriate time. While many woman love seeing “will you marry me?” flashing on the scoreboard of the baseball game while he gets down on one knee presenting the diamond engagement ring, but he may not appreciate the theatrics.  You know how guys can be, and while in private he professes his emotions to you, making them public is another matter.  I am not suggesting that you pop the question in the privacy of your own home, but maybe you present him with his engagement ring over dinner, on a hike, or weekend getaway, less dramatic occasions.

Now that you have the proposal plan you need to select a man’s engagement ring.  This will be much easier than you think; thanks to advances in men’s fashion there are many interesting options for men’s wedding and engagement rings on the market.  Famous athletes like David Beckham, musicians like Kanye West, and actors like Brad Pitt have made men’s jewelry fashionable and sparked many of the current fashion trends.

Men’s engagement rings should likely not have the same type of raised diamond that a women’s engagement ring would have.  Men are after all practical creatures, as well as active ones, and raised stones would most likely get in their way.  Because a woman’s engagement ring almost always contains a diamond or precious gemstone, you should select a men’s engagement ring with a stone included.  It doesn’t need to be a solitaire necessarily, but something that sets his engagement ring apart from a standard wedding band.

What to do once you finalize the ceremony?  At this point you will also present him with his wedding ring, and most men are not going to want to wear two rings on one finger.  Some grooms choose to wear the wedding ring on their left hand and then their men’s engagement ring on their right hand, or you could select a men’s wedding band that can be permanently affixed to his engagement ring.

If you have difficulty finding jewelers that sell men’s “engagement rings,” don’t be discouraged.  This is a growing trend and eventually they will be all over the market, but essentially a men’s engagement ring is just like a diamond or gemstone men’s wedding ring, the difference is that you give it to him when you propose marriage.  Take a look at some of these men’s wedding rings that would serve great as men’s engagement rings.
